45 hours and FINAL PAINTING
Get a darker  green background the feather plume
shadowed, all the head dresses darken and detailed,
the bottom feather curved, the hair and braid painted,
more shadowing and blended the left bottom to fade
out and balance.
43 hours
Darken the green background the feather plume, all
the head dresses darken and color added, the bottom
feather curved, more shadowing, orange feather
detail. Lighten shadow on hand feathers. Darken
shadows on drummer on the left.
41 hours
Painting the head dresses and the green back
ground, adding the bottom right orange feathers and
shadowing on main feather band. Darken the
shadows on the left drummer, paint the hair and
braids. All the head dresses started. Change horns of
hand feathers to blue tones
38 hours
Begin adding the green between the green to the
background and working on the head dress, details
and shadowing.
32 hours
I work more on the center feathers, shading, and
beading especially on the drummer on the left adding
more details and hand shadows.
28 hours
I finish the majority of the beading on both vests and
strips of leather from the feather band. I add the
browning pant area to pop the gray pants forward.
Adding more color to the pink and blue shirt of on the
closest drummer and feather from out of the photo
head dress.
22 hours
Getting that scary Orange Red on the sleeve with
more details of the ornaments, beads, and feathers
then adding the greens around the drumming stick
and finishing the feathers in the middle area for
outline boarders.
18 hours
The braids were scary along with more of the middle
feathers from the back. I added the pink, dark
magenta and creating the white reflection of the hair
with thin lines while darkening the facial shadows and
adding the pants with drum stick and more shadowing
on the hands.
14 hours
More details on the middle drummer's sleeves, some
beading and outline about where the bone vests and
shell adornments needed to be placed, especially the
bear on the drummer on the left.
8 hours
The feather band with the horns is the focal point and
it was important to get it into the piece and build
around it with some feathers, drum sticks and
headband.
4 hours
I started with the faces and shadowing. Each drummer
is chanting while drumming and I wanted to get the
mood and energy from the expressions on their faces.
